'Karz' to remake

We can say that today in Bollywood there is a boom of modern remake of old hit films. After 'Don' and 'Shole', its turn of 'Karz' to remade.

Original 'Karz' was made by Subhash Ghai twenty-seven years ago. It was a story of a singer who takes revenge from an unfaithful woman who killed him in his previous life. The movie was hit of its time because of its good story and excellent music by Laxmikant Pyarelal.

Now in the modern-day remake of the 'Karz', Urmila Matondkar will play the role of unfaithful lover. While the music composer turned singer turned actor Himesh Reshmiya will play the role of the reincarnated singer. Producer Bhushan Kumar is also looking forward to sign Feroz Khan to play the role of Sir Judah.

The film will be produced by T-Series, while director Satish Kaushik will direct the film.

Urmila says she is excited about the role because it is a challenging role already immortalized by someone as talented as Simi Garewal.

Of late, Urmila has been working in art films like 'Banaras - A Mystic Love Story' and 'Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara' will now return to mainstream films with 'Karz' remake. Urmila had also recently done one item song called 'Mehbooba Mehbooba' in Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag.
