Chopras in trouble
[Wed Aug 22, 2007]

After attending the India Day Parade celebrations in New York on the 60th year of India's Independence Day, the Chopras have to face trouble in India. Non-bailable warrants were issued against Priyanka Chopra's father Ashok Chopra. Her father might be arrested when he will return to India.

The case was filed against Ashok Chopra by Priyanka's ex-secretary Prakash Jaju, for non-payment of dues. Chopra also claimed that he was threatened by mafia don Chhota Shakeel.

Jaju said, "Ashok Chopra was supposed to be present at the Indore High Court on August 18 to attend hearing. Since he didn't show up, the NBW was issued."

The friction between Jaju and Chopras started when Chopras asked Jaju to leave. Chopras felt that Jaju is mishandling Priyanka's career as well as asking for extra commissions from producers. Meanwhile, Jaju says that he was never given a six-month notice that was part of his contract.

In 2006, Jaju approached many directors including Rakesh Roshan, not to sign Priyanka. But Rakesh Roshan signed Priyanka for 'Krrish'.

Priyanka's father, Mr. Ashok Chopra said that, "Jaju is doing this for publicity and money that does not belong to him. He had filed other cases before this in the High Court, but lost all of them because they were baseless. But, I am not going to let him trouble my little girl any more; I have controlled myself too long. It's time that he is taught a lesson and I will make sure of that."

Jaju had previously worked with Jackie Shroff, Sridevi and Dimple Kapadia. None of them worked with him for a long. After Priyanka, Jaju has worked with Celina Jaitley and Nikita Anand. But Celina also asked him to leave and he still owes money to Nikita. As of now he is not working with any Bollywood personality.
